Role overview

Placecube is looking for an experienced, customer obsessed, Customer Success Manager to own and evolve relationships with our platform customers, ensuring that our value proposition is leveraged to help deliver our customers objectives. You will work directly with our customers, representing their needs within our organisation and helping drive the successful deployment of our products, in order to support their transformation and improvement programmes.

Key tasks

  • Prepare and execute account development plans, based on credible intelligence, gleaned through a close working relationship with each customer
  • Working with existing SaaS customers in an advisory relationship to ensure customer success, product stickiness, retention and business development
  • Identifying product development and professional services opportunities, solutioning them collaboratively with the customer and colleagues, defining the project team composition and following through to revenue realisation
  • Act as a point of escalation for scope / issue resolution between the project, delivery team, support and the customer
  • Develop a deep understanding of our products and value proposition, and be able to map this to customer need, as well as articulate it effectively to audiences of all backgrounds and levels of seniority
  • Working on a consultative basis with product customers to understand their objectives and success factors, in order to determine best application of our product(s) in order to ensure success, and ultimately retention
  • Working closely with service delivery in order to ensure we are delivering in line with customer expectation and requirements at all stages of the product and project cycle


Skills, experience and qualifications

All positions at Placecube are “not office based”. Staff spend the majority of their time working from their home base, with occasional visits to client sites for project meetings.  Staff are expected to attend the scheduled meetings for sales and project team meetings and any training and awareness activities.  This requires discipline, self-motivation, initiative, and the ability to operate independently in the absence of close management supervision.

  • Three or more years working as a Customer Success Manager or Strategic Consulting Partner
  • Good knowledge of the responsibilities and mechanics of Local Government in the UK
  • Ability to understand problems, facilitate collaborative solutioning and create clear and effective customer propositions to support the commissioning of required projects
  • Deep understanding of successful leveraging of SaaS products, learned either as a supplier or customer, ideally both
  • An understanding of digital technologies and agile ways of working
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage, influence, negotiate and collaborate with a variety of stakeholders, excellent communication skills and able to match your style to the situation
